FARil – Flørli Artist Residency in the Lysefjord

The  school of Flørli belongs to the Stavanger municipality and housed a teacher and pupils until 1994.

From 2006 to 2009,  the school has been the base for artists in residens.


FARiL is a  residency project, for artists coming from all over the world.
3 visual artist and 1 multimedia artist’s collective stayed in the years 2006-7-8 and 9  in Flørli to work for a month each. The municipalities of Stavanger and Forsand and the region of Rogaland have invested in the project. The artists have received a grant 3000 € for the stay.

In 2010 and 2011, a puppet theater and an international art workshop have been developping projects in Flørli and at the school. These were :
– M.A.R.I.N. workshop – Media Art Research Interdisciplinary Network in collaboration with i/o/lab
–  Skromlehjulet Puppet theater

    I fpund your artist in residence blog / site – seems to be a very interesting thing; I would like to know more about it and ways of how to apply. I am an artist working in different fields from sculpture to photography. I live in Paris, France, but my origins are Yugoslav.
